Arsenal see off Ipswich to reach League Cup final
Arsenal take their place in the League Cup final after sweeping away from Ipswich with a 3-0 victory in the semifinal second leg at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

Ipswich had an uprising in the spotlight when the Championship side reached the threshold at 0-0, but goals in the second half of Nicklas Bendtner and Cesc Fabregas Laurent Koscielny sealed the 3-1 victory overall.

Arsenal will face West Ham and Birmingham at Wembley and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is now a victory to end their run of six years without a trophy.

Seeking to reach his first final since Wembley National Stadium in England was reopened in 2007, Arsenal is expected to mount pressure on the immediate goal of Marton Fulop to neutralize the deficit of 1-0 to go to Portman Road.

But Grant Lead Bitter almost shocked by Arsenal's first seconds of the match - only by opening the bar with a shot from the center of Ipswich was kicked off the line - after the hosts began to pour forward in their attacks.

Fabregas had a drive saved by Fulop, Robin van Persie hit the crossbar of the head and Bendtner had an effort bravely blocked by Ipswich fullback Damien Delaney.

An attack, however, has angered when Fabregas was challenged in the penalty area by Gareth McAuley, with replays suggesting the Spanish midfielder went to ground easily.

Fabregas had used his program notes to express his surprise at Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has been accused of laborers in the Premier League clash at the weekend.

"He himself said that he knows me well, so he must know that I'm not the kind of guy who dive," wrote the captain of Arsenal.

Fabregas had the last clear chance of the first half, when he was sent through a delicate chip over the defense of Jack Wilshere Ipswich.

Fülöp was only between Fabregas and the opener, but the midfielder fired a left-footed volley off after Ipswich goalkeeper.

Arsenal was forced into a change in the first half when France defender Bacary Sagna has collided with goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and need treatment for a head injury.

And they have become increasingly frustrated in the first half, collecting a yellow card Koscielny referee Mark Halsey for a foul on David Norris Ipswich captain.

The second half began like the first, and creates opportunities for Ipswich, as they tried to extend the initiative to meet.

This time Arsenal failed to clear a corner and defender Darren O'Dea flashed a volley over the goal.

Once again, Arsenal had a lot of attacks on the attackers, but the hosts were guilty of shooting and passing, rather than when they were in the home straight.

Breakthrough occurred 61 minutes when the ball cleared Wilshere Bendtner, Carlos Edwards, who cut inside and curled into the bottom corner.

Koscielny Arsenal edged in front three minutes later when he drove home from a corner sharply Andrey Arshavin.

Fabregas goal came when Arshavin played against him until the end of 77 minutes and ended well.
