Rescuers worked Wednesday to release five people still buried under the rubble of a multi-storey building that collapsed in the Yemeni capital, after four others were rescued, rescuers told AFP.
The building owner, his daughter and granddaughter had saved from the ruins of a downtown five-story building, they said. But in five tenants were still in the wreckage caused by the eve of collapse.
grandson of 12 years was severely wounded and lost a leg, an AFP correspondent said the scene.
Rescuers then extract a man who suffered minor injuries, and the four survivors were hospitalized.
They said that at least five people, one is able to call his cell phone, was buried.
The first three-story building was built without pillars, and two additional floors of reinforced concrete construction added later. A relay antenna is also installed on the roof.
