Cam Newton to Enter 2011 NFL Draft

Cam Newton is going to make his stop at Auburn a one-year venture. The junior quarterback announced Thursday he is leaving school early to enter the NFL Draft.

The one year at Auburn was quite a memorable one for both Newton and the school. The quarterback won the third Heisman Trophy in school history and was the key benefactor to the BCS National Championship -- the school's first national title in 53 years.

He ended the season with a 182 quarterback rating -- second in the nation behind Boise State's Kellen Moore -- throwing for 2,854 yards and 30 touchdowns against just seven interceptions. He also rushed for 1,473 yards and tied for third in the country with 20 rushing touchdowns. Most importantly, he led Auburn to a 14-0 record after they went 8-5 without him the previous season.

Newton is projected to be drafted in the first round by many draft prognosticators.
