Cameron Diaz says that she got smarter for her role in 'The Green Hornet'
Cameron Diaz talked to OnTheRedCarpet.com at the premiere of her new movie, "The Green Hornet" which came out on January 14. In the superhero movie, which pulled in over $11 million at the box office this weekend, the actress plays the Green Hornet's (Seth Rogen) assistant Lenore Case, who is the brains of the operation.
I had to get really smart before the movie started, the actress joked. So I trained myself to be smart for a couple of months and now I've totally forgotten about it."
The movie follows Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles' largest newspaper fortune who becomes an unlikely superhero after his father's mysterious death. Reid enlists the help of one of his father's former employees (Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou) and an assistant with a degree in criminology (Cameron Diaz) to help him create his new alternative persona, the Green Hornet. The Hornet tries to bring down the city's biggest bad guy, played by "Inglorious Basterds" star Christoph Waltz.
Diaz said that she jumped on the opportunity to do a movie with director Michel Gondy (of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" fame) and Seth Rogen. Of her funnyman co-star, Diaz says, He's awesome. He's amazing actually.
Cameron Diaz's next movie will be "Bad Teacher" where she plays a foul-mouthed junior high teacher alongside Jason Segel and Justin Timberlake. "Bad Teacher" is set for release on June 17, 2011.
