Oregon Ducks football- A hair metal primer

In considering musical elements for tonight's BCS championship game, the easy tune would be Steve Miller's "Take The Money and Run." It's applicable to both Auburn (for there are a great many questions still surrounding quarterback Cam Newton), and Oregon (hello, Phil Knight!*).

(*In my mind, as soon as Oregon clinched this BCS spot, Knight was on the phone to Oklahoma State super booster T. Boone Pickens to demand his $1. Because in my mind, the two have a "Trading Places"-like bet about who can turn a down its luck program into a national champion.)

But then Sebastian Bach got involved. And with apologies to his work on "Gilmore Girls," his work on those first two Skid Row records were better -- those two records being fine examples of genre and era. Those two records hold up.

In honor of that, a brief primer on the Ducks through songs from our hair metal past.

It's easy to forget now, but the Ducks came into the season with a great many questions, foremost: Could they stop getting arrested long enough to win some football games.
